When making this photo, I wanted to try and make the building a settled background. Not trying to make it the main focus but instead something you gloss over.
In this photo, I wanted to make the rocks in the background add texture. Make it seem more soothing and add a bit of nature to the image. I wanted the person to be the viewer's main focus, with the texture and building as nothing more than an add-on to the picture.
